Developing Outcome-Based Success Criteria (Prompt Generator)

During our Assessment Boosters, we’ve focused on developing outcome-based success criteria using AI to start the conversation. We have an exciting time-saver for you!
1) Select an Outcome from the Outcome-Based Success Criteria Repository
 - Choose an outcome that works in an upcoming class or on a course plan for next year
 - Select an outcome that hasn't been completed yet
2) Instead of using the AI Template – Word doc, scroll down and select the Grade, Subject and Outcome that matches the one you selected to work on.
 a) Curriculum Corner will find the Unpacked Outcome and the matching rubric and fill in the template for you.
  i) i.e. Unpacked outcome provided the “outcome” and the “indicators” (do section) and adds the FM level from the rubric
**Note: You may encounter outcomes that don’t pull into the spreadsheet, in those cases copy in the missing info.
3) Once the template is filled, select COPY
4) Paste into AI to jumpstart your outcome-based success criteria process.
 a) CoPilot AI
5) Check the AI suggested outcome-based success criteria by:
 a) Comparing to the overall outcome – Is this the evidence of proficiency students need to demonstrate for this outcome?
 b) Do the criteria align with the FM level of the NESD Rubric?
(i.e. these are the must do can’t fail priorities within this outcome)
 c) Do the verbs in the “I can” statements honour the verbs in the outcome and indicators?
Refine the suggested "I can" statements as needed using AI or by editing
6) Add to the Outcome-Based Success Criteria Repository
7) Consider:
 a) The types of assessment methods that would support these
 b) What evidence would show proficiency?
 c) Would this be something students might document in the gradebook or learning story?

Develop 5-7 “must do can’t fail” outcome-based success criteria using grade-appropriate, student-friendly language in an “I can…” statement format using the grade, subject, Saskatchewan Ministry of Education Curriculum, designated outcome, FM Level of the NESD Rubric and indicators as outlined below. Remember, the outcome is the key area of focus supported by the priority (Must do can’t fail) criteria outlined in the FM Level of the North East School Division (NESD) Rubric and vetted by the indicators from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education curriculum.
